Effective date: September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CoreBench ("CoreBench," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal data in connection with the website located at https://corebench.tech(the "Site") and our engineer-sourcing, vetting, matching, and support services for startups and companies in the US, UK, and elsewhere (the "Services").

Please read this Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Site or the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or the Services.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Policy applies to:

  • Developers/Candidates — individuals who apply to be vetted and matched through CoreBench.
  • Client Company Contacts — individuals at companies who engage CoreBench to source developers.
  • Site Visitors — anyone who browses corebench.tech, including through content downloads described in Section 8.

2. Age Restriction

The Services are intended for business and professional use by individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal data from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete it and may limit or terminate the associated account.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on one or more of the following:

  • Contractual necessity — to create and administer your account, match developers with Client Companies, and deliver the Services you request.
  • Legitimate interests — to improve the Services, secure our systems, prevent fraud, and communicate with Client Companies about the Services.
  • Consent — for optional marketing communications and certain cookies, as described below. You may withdraw consent at any time using the contact details in Section 16.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, employment-referral, and other applicable laws.

4. Information We Collect

4.1 Information You Provide

If you apply as a Developer/Candidate:

  • Name, email, phone number, location/time zone, and professional details (CV/resume, portfolio links, work history, technical skill set, English proficiency, desired rate and availability).
  • Information generated during our vetting process, including technical assessment results, interview notes, and references you provide.
  • Payment/payout details (e.g., bank or payment platform information) needed to pay you once placed, collected and processed via our payment processor(s) — see Section 7.

If you represent a Client Company:

  • Name, work email, phone number, job title, company name, and hiring requirements you share with us (role specs, budget range, team context).
  • Billing and company information needed to invoice for staff augmentation services.

If you are a Site Visitor:

  • Any information you submit through contact forms, demo requests, or content downloads (see Section 8).

4.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Site, our servers and analytics tools automatically collect log and usage data, which may include: IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system information, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, the date and time of visits, and approximate location derived from IP address. We use this data to operate and secure the Site, diagnose issues, and understand how the Site is used.

4.3 Information from Third Parties

  • We may receive information about Developers/Candidates from references, prior employers, or professional/technical assessment platforms you authorize us to contact.
  • We may receive information from Client Companies about their own employees or authorized users who will access the Services.

5. How We Use Information

We use the personal data described above to:

  • Create and administer accounts and provide access to the Site and Services.
  • Match, vet, and present Developers/Candidates to Client Companies, and support the resulting engagement.
  • Process payments, payouts, and invoices.
  • Communicate with you about your account, applications, placements, or enquiries, including service and administrative messages.
  • Send marketing communications where you have consented (see Section 8), and let you opt out at any time.
  • Monitor, secure, and improve the Site and Services, including diagnosing technical issues and preventing fraud or misuse.
  • Comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

We do not collect Sensitive Personal Data (such as health data, religious or political views, or similar special categories) as a matter of course in operating the Site and hiring Services.

7. Third-Party Payment Processing

We use third-party payment processors (such as Stripe) to process payments and payouts. We do not store full payment card numbers or comparable financial account details ourselves — that information is provided directly to, and held by, our payment processor, subject to its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing the payment processor's policy before submitting payment information.

8. Marketing Communications and Content Downloads

From time to time we may collect your name, email address, job title, and related professional details through forms on the Site (for example, to download hiring-trend reports, developer salary guides, or similar resources). By submitting such a form, you consent to receive the requested content and occasional related communications about developer hiring trends or CoreBench's Services.

You may withdraw this consent and unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at the address in Section 16. We will not use data collected this way for unrelated purposes without your separate consent or another lawful basis.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it as follows:

  • With Client Companies: Developer/Candidate profile and vetting information is shared with Client Companies for the purpose of evaluating and matching candidates.
  • Service Providers: Vetted providers who help us operate the Services (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing, communications tools), bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a successor policy.

  • Aggregated/De-identified Data: We may share data that has been aggregated or de-identified such that it no longer identifies you.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain business records, and comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it. Retention periods vary by category — for example, Developer/Candidate profiles may be retained for a reasonable period after your last activity so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete your data sooner.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data, subject to legal or contractual retention needs.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting past processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for EEA/UK residents) or applicable regulator.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We may need to verify your identity before responding and may decline requests where permitted by law (for example, where fulfilling a request would infringe another person's rights).

12. International Data Transfers

CoreBench's systems and service providers may be located in the United States or other countries. If you access the Services from the EEA, UK, or elsewhere outside the country where our servers are located, your personal data may be transferred internationally. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect data transferred in this way.

13. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

14. Third-Party Links and Integrations

The Site and Services may link to, or integrate with, third-party websites, tools, or systems (for example, scheduling or payment providers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Site before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Site or Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
